How to Make an Above Ground Pool Deeper
There are a few ways to make an above ground pool deeper, depending on your budget and the size of your pool.
- Drain the Pool:
- Drain the pool completely to expose the pool bottom.
- Remove any debris or loose dirt from the bottom of the pool.
- Make sure the pool liner is in good condition before proceeding.
- Excavate the Pool:
- Determine how deep you want the pool to be and mark the desired depth on the pool walls.
- Use a backhoe or excavator to dig out the pool bottom to the desired depth.
- Make sure the walls of the pool are supported during the excavation process.
- Reinforce the Walls:
- If you are significantly increasing the depth of the pool, you may need to reinforce the walls to prevent collapse.
- Consider adding additional support beams or bracing to the pool walls to ensure they can handle the extra weight and pressure.
- Replace the Pool Liner:
- Once the pool bottom has been excavated and any necessary reinforcements are in place, install a new pool liner that is compatible with the new depth.
- Make sure the liner is securely in place and properly sealed to prevent leaks.
- Refill the Pool:
- Once the pool liner is in place, refill the pool with water to the desired depth.
- Check for any leaks or issues with the new pool depth before using the pool.
