How to Make Strong Kava
Follow these steps to make a strong kava drink:
- Start with high-quality kava root powder: Choose a reputable source for your kava powder to ensure potency.
- Measure the amount of kava powder: Use a measuring cup or scale to accurately measure the amount of kava powder needed for your desired strength of kava drink.
- Add the kava powder to a strainer bag: Place the kava powder in a strainer bag or cheesecloth to make it easier to strain out later.
- Heat water to the right temperature: Heat water to around 120-140°F (49-60°C) to extract the kavalactones from the kava powder effectively.
- Add the kava powder to the water: Place the strainer bag containing the kava powder into the warm water and let it steep for about 10-15 minutes.
- Knead the kava: After steeping, gently knead the kava powder in the strainer bag to release more kavalactones into the water.
- Strain the kava: Remove the strainer bag containing the kava powder, squeezing out as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining solids.
