How to Play Phase 10
Phase 10 is a card game that is played with a special deck of cards. The game is played in 10 phases, with each phase having a specific goal or set of requirements that players must complete in order to move on to the next phase.
Setup
- Shuffle the Phase 10 deck and deal 10 cards to each player.
- Place the remaining cards in the center to form the draw pile.
- Draw a starting phase card from the deck and place it face up on the table.
Gameplay
On your turn, you must draw a card from either the draw pile or the discard pile. Then, you must either lay down a phase (meeting the requirements of the current phase) or discard a card onto the discard pile. The goal is to be the first player to complete all 10 phases.
Phases
Each phase has a specific goal that players must achieve:
- 2 sets of 3
- 1 set of 4 and 1 run of 4
- 1 set of 5
- 1 run of 7
- 1 run of 8
- 1 run of 9
- 2 sets of 4
- 7 cards of the same color
- 1 set of 5 and 1 set of 2
- 1 set of 5 and 1 set of 3
Winning
The first player to complete all 10 phases wins the game. If multiple players complete all phases in the same round, the player with the lowest score wins. Points are scored based on the cards remaining in players' hands at the end of each round.
